What's New

Workforce for ArcGIS has regular updates for the web and mobile apps. The web app is currently version 18.0.1, released in February 2018. The Android and iOS mobile apps are currently version 17.0.1, released in December 2017.

Project owners

Version 18.0.1 of the web app was released in February 2018 and includes the following enhancements and fixes:

  • Support for ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6.
  • Add multiple mobile workers to your project through a CSV file.

If you have a list of mobile workers to add to your project, you no longer have to add them one at a time. Instead you can upload a CSV file with the mobile workers to be added to the project, including details about each of them. See Tip: Add mobile workers from a file.

  • Integrate with Explorer for ArcGIS.

Make it easy for your mobile workers to open Explorer with a particular map, centered at their assignment location.

  • Pass GlobalID to Collector for ArcGIS and Survey123 for ArcGIS.

While configuring the project, the project owner can specify that the GlobalID be passed when opening Collector or Survey123. This provides a way to associate work done in Collector or Survey123 with an assignment.

  • Use the Navigation basemap by default when an organization is configured to use vector basemaps.

If your organization is configured to use Esri vector basemaps in supported ArcGIS apps, both Dispatcher and Worker maps will be created with the Navigation vector basemap. This crisp, responsive basemap will improve your maps.

  • Various bug fixes and improvements, including these:
    • BUG-000109369—Support for dispatcher maps without a tiled basemap

Dispatchers

Version 18.0.1 of the web app was released in February 2018 with various bug fixes and improvements, including the following:

  • BUG-000109369—Support for dispatcher maps without a tiled basemap
  • Updated fonts when using the app in certain languages

Mobile workers

Version 17.0.1 of the mobile apps for Android and iOS was released in December 2017 and includes the following enhancements and fixes:

  • Attach photos and videos to assignments.

Mobile workers can now attach photos and videos to provide additional information about the work that is done. Some organizations use this to provide proof of work completion, while others use it to document issues noticed in the field that require additional work. View an assignment's details in the mobile app to attach a photo or video.

  • Pass additional information to Collector for ArcGIS and Survey123 for ArcGIS.

When enabled by project owners, mobile workers can pass additional information to Collector and Survey123. When launching Collector or Survey123, a new collection or survey, respectively, is started and includes information from the assignment.

    Note:
Using the additional parameters with Collector for ArcGIS requires Collector for ArcGIS 17.0.3 or later.

  • Sorting removes Critical grouping.

When you sort your assignments, all assignments are now sorted by the specified criteria. Critical assignments are no longer kept in their own section.
